NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE

Pursuant to Application Number 807-8105

(1) In accordance with KRS 350.055, notice is hereby given that Hurricane Creek Mining LLC, 3380 Cedar Fork Road, Tazewell, TN 37879 has applied for a permit for a coal washing facility, rail car loading facility, and temporary refuse storage area affecting 39.1 acres located 0.5 miles west of Middlesboro in Bell County.
(2) The proposed operation is approximately 0.5 miles southwest from 46 th Street junction with KY 186 and located on the south bank of Bennetts Fork.
(3) The proposed operation is located on the Fork Ridge U.S.G.S. 7.5 minute quadrangle map. The surface area to be disturbed is owned by WPP LLC.
(4) The application has been filed for public inspection at the Division of Mine Reclamation and Enforcement Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 East Cumberland Avenue, Middlesboro, KY 40965. Written comments, objections, or requests for a permit conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Mine Permits, 300 Sower Blvd. Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
