This application is available for public review at the Claiborne County Courthouse between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and the application and the permit are available for public review at the OSM Knoxville Field Office between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Eastern Time. During this public review period, from January 25, 2023 to March 17, 2023, OSM will accept written comments, objections, or requests for an informal conference relative to this application. Any person having an interest, which is or may be adversely affected by the decision on the application, may make such written comments during the public review period. The Double Mountain Mine site is located on Double Mountain in Claiborne County at latitude 36° 31’ 39” N and longitude -83° 51’ 21” W on the Fork Ridge 7.5’ Quadrangle map. The site is located approximately 5.8 miles from the intersection of Rock Creek Road with Rich Mountain Road in an easterly direction. The affected area of the face up drains into Spruce Lick of Tackett Creek.
